My take on the GOP primary to date is that, in one way or another, in one place or another, each one of the contestents had their fifteen minutes of fame. Some people say it's all over if Mitt takes NC with any sort of margin. That seems to me to be a real shot in the dark. Three states, all minor in population, is supposed to represent an entire nation. And when you talley the figures for all three states combined Mitt isn' a landslide shoo-in.

I was hoping the GOP would find a fresh voice with some fresh ideas who might attract a fresh following come next fall. Mitt's track record leaves a lot to be desired and if I was a beting man I would put the family jewels on Obama if he and Mitt square-off in November. I don't bet on political events or major league slugfests or religious preferences but if I did I'd have to take Mitt's Mormon roots as a guide on how to vote. Until JFK we had never had a Catholic president and folks said we still wouldn't when that election was over. And folks said we'd never have a black president four years ago, but we have. Now they are saying Mitt isn't electable because he's a Mormon. Hmmmmm. Well, The survivors of any election are a page from the NFL's log -- any given election day strange things might happen.

You see, what I'm looking for is a dynamic individual who has a handle on our woes and has done enough homework on the calculations for reversing those woes to really make it happen. not some eloquent speaker who repeats what he thinks we want to hear but has no intention of producing if he (oer she) is elected. I want someone who can bring us together, not someone who splinters our timbers and scuttles the ship hung-up on partison rhetoric that leads to gridlock,

So the show goes on with the same cast of characters who seem to have a knack for playing musical chairs in a game that should be taken far more seriously than some people think. If I vote for Obama again that will be the GOP's fault because they failed in their duties to provide a worthwhile candidate for the presidency. and as it stands right now I will vote for Obama in November. With him I do at least have an idea of what to expect but I am not going to cast my vote for a candidate chosen from a crapshoot like the one I see unfolding on the righthand theme of politics,

I am with you on that ,Gramps.I will vote Obama without reservations this time.

BTW,Obama won in New Hampshire in the Democratic primary. Several nuts with funny names ran against him:eek:)

You weren't hoping any such thing. You were hoping the worst candidate possible would face off with the "ONE" so we could have 4 more years of socialism.

So since you have just perfectly described Obama's presidency why not try something different in 2012?

November will be a double pleasure.
Re-election of a good president who saved us from Ayn Randian mess and the self destruction promised by the consumed by hatred causing mental degeneration sub -human stench

I just want to see the communists and socialists defeated. With the election of a GOPer they will be. So it goes.

I wouldn't bet 'the family jewels', I hear they're hard to replace.

Mitt will be the nominee and he will defeat Obama.

Count it.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT IS WAS 'HOPING' FOR. That's just some more rightwing intimidation to make noise. If, as you suggest, the last four years has been a socialistic venture then I suggest to you that you look back however far you want and try to find any president who didn't have to embrace the programs rightwingers call socialistic because they are the law of the land. That would make Bush and Clinton and Papa Bush and several others socialists, too. the Rightwingers are the hopers, not the leftwingers. We know exactly what we have and where we stand.

You contradict yourself.......

How on earth can you on one hand state, "..what I'm looking for is a dynamic individual who has a handle on our woes and has done enough homework on the calculations for reversing those woes to really make it happen. not some eloquent speaker who repeats what he thinks we want to hear , and, "I want someone who can bring us together, not someone who splinters our timbers", and THEN turn right around and on the other hand say, "as it stands right now I will vote for Obama in November"??????

Are you actually under the illusion that obami is really one who, " is a dynamic individual who has a handle on our woes and has done enough homework on the calculations for reversing those woes"??

That obami is really one who is "NOT , "some eloquent speaker who repeats what he thinks we want to hear"????

That obami is, "someone who can bring us together, not someone who splinters our timbers"??????

Have you by any CHANCE seen, read or heard people presenting their views on this over the past couple of years? Look, wanna vote for obami, dig out, it is every American's right, no reason needed.

So stop trying, (in vain I might add), to act as if you really are open to an alternative to the man, if only the evil 'ol republicans would run someone a dim approved of you would show us..........

So Uppy, what do you on the right have to offer but a bunch of dimwits who want to return us to the glory days of the Bush II regime and the success those years brought to us all? Nothing, that's what. Obama is better by far than any candidate the republicons have to offer. I don't like all that he has done, but I don't like any of the things I've seen the republicons offer in contrast.

...they have one in Huntsman but there is no way the fundie/teapub wing would even consider him - he believes in compromise...

Why because to change means one thing, starting over with a group of people who really don't have a plan to offer other than we must undo everything. after that it's a real toss up to what they will do.
Two things most likely to happen would be another tax cut to the wealthy(top 15%) and most likely a new war to start.

YOU are 100% right there partner. Also the fact that we need a congress and senate with a super majority so we can get done what needs to be done.
