Build Back Better plan

Question: why is it that the Build Back Better plan is so ruthlessly opposed by the entire ruling class of this country?

Answer: because with this bill, we are showing that government can deliver for the needs of working class people, not just billionaires and corporations.

So now sitting senators…senators who have had NOTHING but government jobs all their lives…senators who have been senators for decades and decades… are somehow not “the ruling class”.

I am more than a little tired of the pharmaceutical industry continuing to rip off the American people and forcing them to pay, by far, the highest prices on the planet for their prescriptions. Aren't you?

Have you all seen the dark money ads against Medicare negotiating drug prices? Greedy bastards.
You cure high prices by forcing everyone to shop and pay from their own pocket. Government and employer insurance subsidies distort the market.

Well, the powerful in DC have no problems/worries with receiving excellent health care/high priced meds at all... so why worry about the pharmaceuticals ripping the lowly consumers off!

The ruling class are and have always been the uber-wealthy. Trump gave them a nice tax cut in 2017.
They're often stealth actors ie Dark Money.

I wondered how long leftist would attack democrats here that don't walk lock step with the Progs
With Manchin's known love affair with the coal industry.., he seems more likely to have his own agenda in mind. Sanders summed up those hold outs quite well. IMO
_______________________________
"So my concern with Mr. Manchin is not so much what his views are -- I disagree with them -- but it is that it is wrong, is really not playing fair, that one or two people think that they should be able to stop what 48 members of the Democratic caucus want, what the American people want, what the President of the United States wants," Sanders said.
He added: "So, Sen. Manchin has a right to fight for his point of view, has not only a right to be heard, he has a right to get some compromises. He's a member of the Senate. But two people do not have the right to sabotage what 48 want, and what the President of the United States wants. That to me is wrong."

Fascinating.
D.C. legislative lifers - charged with making the very laws by which we must all live - are NOT “the ruling class” according to these very truthful, forthcoming, sincere, earnest, good faith leftists.

And the uber-wealthy aka the ruling class have their lobbyists controlling and writing legislation for your Republican legislators. Remember ALEC? There's more dark money groups out there just like them. Don't you wonder when Republican legislatures come up with the same legislation across the country, for new voting laws, anti-abortion laws, etc.? Coincidence? I think not.

Remember Citizens United and how it put the stamp of approval on Dark Money?

What you see here you get in real life.

The cancer has eaten much of the country. I spent some golden years growing up in California. I can't believe what it has become and Texas and Florida are going the same way. It's apparently the inexorable death walk of America - dead man walking. Even when violence erupts it'll never be what it was. The mainline protestant churches are all corrupted because the people stopped showing up to service and to remain relevant the churches re-wrote the Bible. It's like when Rome lost its center and diversity killed it. The Visigoth are at the door because Americans are immoral and unethical to the same degree that the rest of the world - third world - is.

"reflexive repetition of party propaganda without the benefit of original thought."

As do you....

LOL

Those are facts, not party propaganda. I'm surprised that the distinction eludes you so.

So, in the interest of actually having a thought, discuss:

Is there a downside to raising the debt ceiling?

See if you can answer on your own, without consulting the mother ship.
