I wouldn't be interested in shredding the Constitution. I'm just interested in regulating the militia well... something that the founders believed was necessary, judging by the second amendment.

And you can regulate militia in that way to your heart's content, under the appropriate and constitutionally sanctioned laws regarding militia. We have an individual right to arms (the operative clause of the 2nd Amendment protects it), that is separate from militia service.
